I cannot express how happy, inspired, awed, and grateful Hamilton makes me, even/especially on dark days, and will never apologize for the power of stories and art, whether considered classic or pop culture, to turn the world upside down.
As I lay in bed last night, thinking of F words for today’s post (yes, I admit to not having planned ahead for this week’s topics), so many came to mind in the context of Private Revolution that I decided not to choose.
Private Revolution refers to a change in the way we live on the inside, our thoughts and dreams and attitudes, a change that doesn’t require anyone else or anything outside us to change in order for our life to change. The focus is on what we can do, what we want to do, what we know we have to do.
Gifted intensity is the opposite of blasé. It is nearly always turned on. It is ruled by the child’s interests and drives, not the wishes and expectations of parents or society. It has an affective or emotional component, which many people do not expect. And it can be exhausting and confusing for everyone, including the gifted themselves.
