“Life is not primarily a quest for pleasure, as Freud believed, or a quest for power, as Alfred Adler taught, but a quest for meaning.” ~ Viktor Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
Thank you for stopping by! Originally from rural South Dakota, I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I write non-fiction and fiction, blog here and at Psychology Today, read in my comfy chair, and feed the squirrels. I taught writing and creative thinking at Milwaukee School of Engineering for several years, speak at conferences and other events, and recently began a micropublishing company, Hidden Timber Books.
As a professional freelance book indexer for over 20 years, I have indexed hundreds of titles (read my indexing-related short story, “See Also,” published in the Spring 2012 issue of The Adirondack Review). Recently I made the transition to working for myself full-time. I’m a good boss.
