Daily Blogging in January

After the motivational boost I got from participating in NaNoWriMo this year, I’ve decided to do something similar in January, but with blogging. Once upon a time, NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) was in November alongside NaNoWriMo, as an alternative for bloggers who committed to publishing daily posts for the month rather than writing 50,000 words of a novel.

Now owned by the online social media community BlogHerNaBloPoMo is open year round. Each month has a suggested theme and prompts (also good for journal writing) for those who want to use them. The January 2014 theme is “pressure,” and I will probably stick to the theme at least some of the time.

Why commit to posting every day for a month? I have done it before and in the process learned a lot about blogging and writing. This time, I want to focus more on my own thoughts and direction, learn how to make better connections and communicate more clearly, and get a good running start toward strong writing habits and schedules for 2014. It’s also a great way to discover other blogs and bloggers.

Anyone wanna join me? Sign up by January 5!
